Instagram Follow to Unlock with actual follow verification
A tap on “I’m following” requests a check. It never proves a follow by itself.
Check the actual relationship
After a qualifying recipient interaction, the server requests Meta’s supported follow-status field for that recipient and current connection. Only a genuine following result can unlock a follower-gated resource.
Give recipients a clear next step
The configured follow request can show Visit Profile and a supported recheck action. Still-not-following recipients remain locked; a fresh eligible recheck asks Meta again. Unknown, expired and API-error results do not unlock anything.
Eligibility is connection-specific
Current permissions, recipient identity, supported native formats and the messaging window must qualify. Evidence from a different connection is not reused merely because the username matches. General availability is not promised.
Check availability before launch
Registration, connection and drafts are available. Automatic sending requires account-specific eligibility. Eligible India UPI AutoPay is live; cards, eMandate, Dodo USD and public returning paid checkout remain restricted until qualified.
